Weather Display Upgrade: Date Fix

Upgrade with a USB Drive (scroll down to upgrade with Ethernet interface)

Below is a link to download firmware to update your Weather Display Console with a USB thumb drive. This fix will allow the user to update the year.

Follow the procedure below to update your firmware:

1.Double-click the downloaded file to unzip it.

2.Copy the files and folders to a blank thumb drive.

You should have the following folder and files on the thumb drive:

3. Disconnect power from the display console. Remove the screws to open the back panel of the Weather Display, and insert the thumb drive in the top USB slot as shown below.

4. Reconnect power. From the Main display press the “Configure” menu item, then press “Reboot”. Wait for the unit to completely boot back up.

5. Press the “Configure” menu item, then press the “About” menu item on the right.

6. Press “Upgrade Firmware”, and then press “Begin Upgrade”.

The upgrade will take up to 7 minutes.

7. When the upgrade is done, disconnect power from the display console. Remove the USB drive and reattach the back panel of the console.

Once the upgrade is complete, you should be able to select 2013 and beyond from the Date/Time menu item on the touch screen.

Upgrade via Ethernet Interface

Below is a link to download firmware to update your Weather Display Console over an Ethernet connection. This fix will allow the user to update the year through the touchscreen interface.

Follow the procedure below to update your firmware:

1. After following the link above, save the file to your computer. Don’t open the file or unzip it.
2. Connect the Weather Display Console to your network. Apply power to the console.
3. Determine your IP address through the touchscreen interface by pressing "Configure", and then press "Network".
4. On a computer, browse the IP address of the Weather Display* via a web browser and log in. Unless the authentication information has been changed, the user name is "admin" and the password is "admin".
5. Select the Diagnostics menu item (last one) and click the "Reboot" button as shown below. Wait for the Weather Display to completely boot back up.
6. Click on the Update Firmware menu item (next to last).
7. Browse to the downloaded firmware file and click on Update Firmware to start the process.

The upgrade will take up to 5 minutes.

Once the upgrade is complete, you should be able to select 2013 and beyond from the Date/Time menu item on the touch screen.

* The Weather Display is setup with 192.168.0.40 IP address at the factory. Check the Configure/Network screen for the Network setting of your Display Console.
